10th Anniversary!

Hello Friends, Family, Fans!

10 years ago today, December 22nd 1997, I sat down at a piano and recorded my first album, which became known as "Thoughts and Affections."

At the time I had no idea what would come of it.  But I heard a "calling" to get my music out there... sometimes very literally from family and friends!

10 years later, and now with 4 albums, a website, and my own music business, I can look back on the beginning of this journey and know that I would never be where I am today if it hadn't been for you.

Thank you for your wonderful support over the years!  I look forward to bringing you much more music in the next 10 years... and the next.... and the next!

Welcome to the November edition of my Music Newsletter.

The Christmas season is coming! I will be selling my CDs at the Bryn

For the past year I've been working on creating music for a
documentary about Glencairn Museum. I've finished my part of that
project, and the documentary should become available soon.

Some other fun things I've been working on lately include: creating a

things.

Hello everybody,

Welcome to the September edition of my Music Newsletter.

I've spent much of the year so far working on projects for other people in my home recording studio. This has been a lot of fun, but it has meant that I haven't had much to write about lately, in regards to my own solo piano music.

Also, my wife and I just had our third child, a boy named Jaden Micah Keal. So lately, I've been spending less time at the piano, and more time changing diapers!

But I wanted to give you something new to read and listen to, so I managed to add a new page to my website which contains demos of some of the music I've been creating in my studio this year. On this page you will find:

1. A "first take" recording from the up-coming flute and piano album with my sister Roxanne.

2. Some sneak peaks of some of the music I've been composing for a documentary about Glencairn Museum.

3. A fun upbeat rock piece that I wrote, performed and recorded this summer.

4. A song from the Kempton New Church Men's A Cappella Christmas album, "Earth Today Rejoices," which I sang in, and recorded. All proceeds from the sale of this album go to my local church.

Welcome to the May edition of my Music Newsletter.

The first piece of sheet music that I have available is for the piece entitled "Star Gazing" from the album "Thoughts and Affections." I am currently working on notating the sheet music for the piece entitled "Surrender" from my new album "Peace of Heaven." I will let you know when that becomes available.

Please let me know if you have requests for any of my compositions you would like to see in sheet music form. I will start assembling a Request List, and I will notate my music on a first-come-first-serve basis.

I've had a very busy winter and early spring with many enjoyable "for hire" studio projects. Starting this month I will begin recording a Flute and Piano album with my sister Roxanne.

I have some exciting things to announce this month!

First: I'm happy to announce that I have a New Website! It looks really cool and has some great new features, which I could spend a long time talking about, but really you should just go see for yourself! Check it out at the same address: http://www.SolomonKeal.com.

One of the new features that I will mention now is a new audio player on the Listen/Buy page. (You may notice that the player does not include music from the album "Heritage." This is just a technical glitch that will be remedied shortly.) You can actually buy and download music directly off of this player, as well as simply listen to short clips of my music.

O.K., one more thing that I'll mention about the new website is a Rates Page. This page lists all of my rates for the various services I can provide including, Booking Rates, Licensing Rates, Recording Studio Rates, Piano Lesson Rates, Commission Rates, Consulting Rates, and Product Prices.

Second: I'm happy to announce that my first piece of Sheet Music is now available to purchase and download. I spent a good portion of this last month working on a really fun
studio project. Nowadays it's pretty easy to find the soundtrack to a
current movie. But there are many movies from not-that-long-ago that
don't have soundtracks which you can purchase. Someone recently hired
me to create a soundtrack from an older movie. Using my digital audio
sequencing software I was able to cut out dialogue and create a pretty
fun soundtrack, edited straight from the movie!

My Sibelius notation software has arrived. Soon I will be learning
how to use it, and then I will start to create sheet music, both of my
own compositions and for my local church's new song book.

My wife and I had fun performing at the "Caring For Marriage
Conference" in Bryn Athyn in February.

3. I will be performing my solo piano music during the reception
before the banquet at the "Caring For Marriage" Conference in Bryn
Athyn PA, on Saturday Feb 17th, 6:30 to 7:00 PM. This event is only
open to the Marriage Conference attendees.

4. I have ordered Sibelius notation software, which means that very
soon I will be able to start producing sheet music of my solo piano
pieces. Let me know if you have favorites or requests.

5. And most importantly... my daughter turns 4 tomorrow! Yay!

January is always a bit of a slow month, being right after the
Christmas rush. But I've had several studio projects in the beginning
stages to keep me busy. And digital download sales have been steadily
going up, which is exciting news.

2006 was my second year in business as Peace of Heaven Music! It
wasn't quite as good a year as 2005... financially speaking that is.
CD sales were slightly lower, probably due to the rush of "Advent"
sales last Christmas. I didn't do as much performing in 2006. I
also didn't have any piano students. I did however do some
consulting, and my studio income was higher. Expenses were higher
in 2006 too, especially because I upgraded several things in my
studio, including a new computer, a new microphone, and new
software.

But it was great to be, yet another year, doing what I truly love...
music!

"Peace of Heaven" sales have been going pretty well. The CD is
available for $15.00. You can purchase it online from my website
(SolomonKeal.com) as well as from FountainPublishing.com. You can
also order it directly from me by sending me an email. Also check
your local New Church bookstore. You can now download individual
tracks from "Peace of Heaven" off of iTunes for $0.99 per track.

4. I will be writing and illustrating my first book this year, which
is a new area for me; not music, but definitely still creative.
